Object №: SCP-354 - Scarlet Lake
Object Class: Keter
Special conditions of detention: Since it is not possible to move SCP-354, Section 354 is built around it. Armed units and Class D personnel are stationed in Section 354, aimed at combating the threat generated by the object, as well as researchers studying its properties. For personal safety reasons, the personnel of Site 354 are strictly prohibited from approaching SCP-354. Interaction with the object is limited to research activities aimed at finding the possibility of destroying SCP-354, and approved by O5 employees.
Site 354 is designed to contain and neutralize all types of threats that may arise from SCP-354. In the center of Section 354 there is a reinforced concrete wall with a height of 6 meters surrounding the object [DATA DELETED], which should keep emerging creatures from escaping. High-speed video cameras monitor SCP-354 from the wall, and bridges are laid over the object itself, from which armed guards can fire at the fenced area.
Description: SCP-354 is a red liquid lake located in northern Canada. The consistency of the liquid roughly corresponds to human blood (hence the unofficial name "Lake of Blood"), but the nature of the liquid is not biological. There are no clearly defined shores near the lake — the soil mixes with the liquid, and the further away from the center, the more soil and less liquid, the harder the earth becomes. The density of the liquid is directly proportional to the depth of immersion; at the moment it is not established whether the lake has a bottom.
Periodically, various creatures appear from the lake and try to escape behind the fence. Virtually all of the creatures that emerged from SCP-354 were extremely hostile and extremely dangerous.
It is believed that SCP-354 was first discovered by people who survived a plane crash and accidentally stumbled upon a lake. Among the local population, the object was something of a popular legend long before the Foundation discovered it and began fighting the threat.
Having found the source of these "legends", the Organization's employees set up an Epsilon-38 Patrol Post to monitor the object and keep outsiders away from it. Prior to further investigation of the properties of SCP-354, the object was assigned the Euclid classification.
In 14:03 An unidentified creature has emerged from SCP-354. Communication with the Epsilon-38 Patrol Post was lost. The MOG was directed to fight the creature and eventually completed the task. All employees of the Epsilon-38 Patrol Post were found dead. Later, Section 354 was built to contain SCP-354.
