Derived from the original rifle design of Madsen, the Madsen machine gun was a particularly complex but reliable weapon exported and produced by all sides of both WW1 and WW2.
During WW2, it was used mostly by the Norwegians, Danish and Germans (the Germans kept the production of them in occupied Denmark), although many Madsens remained in allied armies due to a lack of other modern machine guns,
