The BMP-2 is a Soviet infantry fighting vehicle that emerged during the modification of the BMP-1, which ceased to satisfy the army with its combat characteristics. It is designed to transport personnel to the front line, enhance their mobility, firepower and protection on the battlefield under nuclear-weapon conditions, and to operate jointly with tanks in combat.
