Radar-Guided Launcher System

The launcher fires an AIM-120 missile that locks onto targets and hits them accurately. The launcher and radar always work together: if one is destroyed, the other stops working. You can turn the radar on and off by activating it directly.

The radar scans an area in front of it, looking for targets. When it finds one, it tells the launcher to fire. You can set the radar beam to sweep back and forth like a searchlight within a chosen angle range, or make it follow your mouse (limited between -30° and 80°).

The launcher also has a settings menu. Right-click it and choose Configure to adjust:

Fire on detection – enable or disable automatic firing when the radar detects a target (enable this after spawning to make it work).

Speed Scale – controls how fast missiles travel (recommended: 1 or below, higher can break them).

Missile Delay – delay before the missile starts homing (set above 0 to avoid early collisions, recommended: 0.1+).

Proxyfuse – distance in meters from the target needed to trigger an automatic explosion (recommended: 6–12; 0 disables and may cause problems).

Cooldown (per object) – time before the system can fire at the same target again (recommended: 1+ seconds).

Cooldown (per launcher) – time before the system can fire at any target again.

Radar Ray Current Angle – the exact angle the radar beam is pointing at (-30° to 80°).

Scan Speed – how fast the radar sweeps its scan range (higher speed makes detection less reliable, 0 disables; recommended: 50–100).

Scan Angle Range – the range of angles the radar scans when scan speed is above 0 (example: 10,60; always type the smaller number first).

Follow Mouse – makes the radar beam track your mouse (still limited to -30° to 80°).

Another menu option is Set Group ID. If two or more systems share the same ID, they won’t target each other’s missiles.

Missiles will try to switch targets if their current target is destroyed. If no new target is available after 3 seconds, they will self-destruct. Any objects wired directly to the radar or launcher are ignored as targets.

Note: it’s not recommended to spawn the system using Q (facing left), as this may cause problems and make it harder to use.
