Reason: Update mod to version: 18.10.20
Adds California as a playable independent nation, complete with a focus tree, events, bookmark placement, AI strategy options, and even a unique intelligence agency. And of course, a few easter eggs.
Focus Tree
The focus tree has political paths for every ideology, mainly split into two ways of playing: do you gain support for the elections, or take power in a swift motion (and potentially cause a civil war)? Afterwards, you're given options for alliances, territorial expansion, and of course wargoals.
Besides that, there's a very large combined industry/research/military tree that gives lots of boosts to your nation.
Leaders
In 1936, you start with the California Democrats in power, led by Frank Merriam, who was Governor at the time in our normal timeline. In the November 1936 elections he is beaten by Republic Party frontrunner, famous actor Ronald Reagan.
The Socialist Party, which may choose to rebrand itself as End Poverty In California (EPIC), is led by known writer Upton Sinclair.
Our fascists, who rally behind the California Identity party, are led by a couple of Army chiefs - one of whom might harbor a familiar face - who may decide to form a military junta.
And, last but not least, are the Nortonists, who rally behind our great Emperor, Norton II! - he may be an impostor, or a time-travelling clone of his predecessor; don't look too deeply into it - Under his reign, you can finally enforce many of Norton's famous decrees, including the abolition of Congress.
Easter eggs?
Well, I won't spoil them here, but there are a few references and witty jabs here and there... I will say that something special happens if California engages in nuclear warfare.
