Mod «Portraits of the Rim» for Rimworld (v1.4)

Welcome to Portraits of the Rim, a dynamic portrait generation mod!

Penny Painter has one humble goal - to paint every face on the Rim. In order to accomplish this seemingly impossible task, 4000+ assets have been drawn (650+ are unique faces based on gender, age, and traits), placed over 30+ layers compiled for your viewing pleasure. Even without clothing, scars, or hair and just using baseliners, the mod creates 26,400 unique pawns. With hair, clothing, injuries and augments, you'll be hard-pressed to find a repeat portrait without trying.

Located as a picture in the Gear tab, Portraits of the Rim showcases the stories of your colonists starting from age 7. It's dynamic, meaning that as your colonists age, get injured and augmented, change their hair, style, and clothes over their time on the Rim, you'll get to see those changes!

It also shows the faces of those visiting your colony as well as those who give you quests/missions.

And that's pretty much it! Right now, it contains assets for the basegame and DLC as well as Vanilla Expanded. Plans are to include more mods, it just takes time! Ultimately, the goal is for Penny to see every face on the Rim, and that means many, many mods to include and many, many updates.

A quick note, while it isn't required, some kind of character editor would probably be helpful to use in case you aren't a fan of how a pawn's portrait is turning out.

• Clipping
  There's going to be weird clipping, especially for hair and certain hats. If you come across them, please let me know! Easiest way is through the discussions below. I'll do my best to make textures fit better, but some of them might just be ill-fitting. I'm just gonna chalk it up to that not all hair styles work with all hats.
  
  
• Missing Textures
  Does it seem like something is missing? Let me know! Reminder that the mod currently works for vanilla and then Vanilla Expanded up through the Phytokin mod. Also, hairs that share names with vanilla and Vanilla Expanded have missing assets. I'm looking into it.
  
  
• Genetic Eye Color
  I'm working on this, so I'm hoping to fix it in a future update, but it's gonna take a little art trickery to get that working.

- Improved hair clipping for pawns that wear certain types of headgear that can cover their entire head.

- Added options to hide headgears by default on a portrait (headgear can still be shown and hidden on a per-pawn basis by clicking on the toggle button next to their portrait)

- Added an option to always show headgear on pawn portraits if the pawn is Drafted.

- Support for the Hair Gradient mod
NOTE: The only gradients currently supported are the ones that come with the Hair Gradient mod and the Character Editor by default. Please let us know if other mods have gradients you would like added in.

- General stability improvements

- (Beta) We are improving the way we are detecting when a portrait needs updating for better performance. This feature will need a lot of testing from a lot of users, so please let us know if portraits end up crashing.
