These apartment buildings scatter around all over Russia and much of eastern europe, serving as homes for millions of Russians and other slavs. These crudely built, grey, massive apartments remain as remnants of soviet architecture and mass housing. They serve as affordable housing for the masses, and as a result, are often lacking in space and appearance. Some blocks can house as many as 1000 - 6000 people.
This particular apartment is based strongly on the Krushchyovka (Хрущёвка), which are infamous for low quality, extremely cheap and cost effective construction.
