Mod «Stalemate: The Frozen War» for Hearts of Iron 4 (v1.10.4)

After the collapse of Russia, the German Empire sent all of it’s troops to the Western Front. The situation for the Entente seemed terrible, but luckily for them, help came from ashore. The USA had joined the War, and it’s soldiers were ready to fight.

But, a few weeks after the Americans arrived, thousands of Allied troops deserted and revolted against their generals. The Americans were left alone in the trenches. Woodrow Wilson, outraged by Europe’s incompetence, recalled of of his army back home. Meanwhile, the German situation wasn’t quite better. The soldiers who had been fighting for 4 years were exhausted, and demanded an armistice.

With instability growing in every nation, peace was finally signed. The Status Quo Ante Bellum was established, angering millions of people, who saw the war as completely useless. Though the war ended in the West, the once mighty Russian Empire was embroiled in a cruel Civil War. The Whites and the Bolsheviks were on a massive struggle to decide the fate of Russia. The Tzar and his family were safely evacuated to the United Kingdom.

Wilhelm II, fearing that the Reds might win the Civil War, started a coalition against the communists. French, English, Japanese and American troops joined forces with the Germans to destroy what now looked like the major enemy. Western Russia was recovered, but a peace agreement was signed between the two parties after several failed white assaults on the communist defenses on the Urals. Once more at peace, the European nations entered in Great Crisis. The British Empire was overwhelmed by Rebels, and lost Egypt, South Africa, Ireland and India. France had to let Tunisia go, and Germany had to crush a Communist Revolution in Bavaria. This situation forced the Western Powers to sign treaties of cooperation, to prevent their nations from collapsing.

Now, the year is 1936. The British Empire has started a war to retake it’s colony of India, and Mussolini, the fascist dictator of Italy, is invading the Ethiopian lands. The US has gone full isolationism, and Japan has threatening ambitions on the Pacific Ocean. Peace is weak, and only a sparkle is needed to light up the flames of war once more.

So, basically, this Mod tries to answer the question: "What If WWI ended in Stalemate?"
