Designed during the 30's as a new concept of machine gun, the General Purpose Machine Gun, the MG34 was the main machine gun of the German army through WW2 until the MG42 was implemented, and even then production and distribution did not stop. It was a very high quality weapon.
It was also in some quantities by other Axis nations, and some of the captured guns managed to get to China to take part in the Sino-Japanese war.
