The Volksgewehr 2, or VG-2, was developed in late war Germany as a cheap and simple to produce weapon to equip the Volkssturm militias with. The sights were fixed, the finish was crude, and the action was as simple as it could be. It loaded from Gewehr 43 magazines, as those were already available in some numbers.
From it's design to it's end, the VG-2 was never meant to be a war winning weapon, it, along with it's different brother rifles would end up mostly forgotten by history.
