Designed in conjunction with a 13mm AT machine gun,the Lahti L39 ended up being more effective at the intended tank hunting purpose. It came too late for the Winter war,with only 2 ever being delivered to the front (although they did see heavy use). During the Continuation War they were used in far greater numbers,originally to attack light Soviet tanks,but later due to the pressence of medium and heavy armor,it was relegated to a general anti light vehicle gun and a counter sniper rifle
