The BMP-3 is a Soviet and Russian infantry fighting vehicle, successor to the BMP-1 and BMP-2. The design of the modernised BMP-3M amphibious infantry fighting vehicle is based on the BMP-3 IFV, which entered into service with the Soviet Army in 1987.
