The Type 63 is a Chinese 12-tubed towed multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS) that fires 107mm rockets. Entering service in the 1960s, it is no longer in active use by the PLA, except in specialized units like mountainous infantry. However, the Type 63 was exported globally, and thus still sees action around the world. It is especially popular with non-state actors and insurgents due to its portability, simplicity, and low cost. Licensed, locally produced copies are also abundant, namely in Iran (Fajr-1), Sudan (Taka), Egypt (RL812/TLC), Turkey (T-107), South Africa (RO 107), Vietnam (H-12), and North Korea (Type 75).
